Prime Consultant Appointed for Frame the Future

GGA Architecture Selected as Prime Consultant for Frame the Future

The Calgary Winter Club is excited to share that GGA Architecture has been selected as the Prime Consultant for Frame the Future, following a thorough and competitive procurement process. This represents another significant step toward delivering the Master Plan that Members endorsed on June 18, 2025, when shareholders voted 85.6% in favour of the required borrowing resolution.

The Prime Consultant plays a critical role in leading the design process and coordinating the many moving parts of a major redevelopment. This includes design and engineering coordination, tendering support, construction administration, and more. The Construction Committee, comprised of dedicated Member volunteers and Board members, managed the selection process, reviewing six proposals that were scored on criteria such as experience, personnel, solutions, and price. Their careful work ensures the Club is moving from vision to action with the right expertise and leadership in place.

After this extensive review, GGA Architecture was chosen for their familiarity with the project, strong proposal, and impressive portfolio of work across Western Canada. GGA has committed a highly experienced team to the CWC, with significant day-to-day involvement from their principal in charge. Their strong local presence also provides scheduling advantages and added confidence as we move through permitting and construction phases.

GGA’s track record includes notable projects such as the Earl Grey Golf Clubhouse, Elevation Place in Canmore, and The Forge residential towers in Calgary’s University District. Each of these projects reflects their ability to combine functionality, design excellence, and a deep understanding of how spaces can shape community experiences. This expertise positions them well to help bring the vision of Frame the Future to life.

The selection of GGA Architecture marks the beginning of an exciting chapter for the Calgary Winter Club. With design now underway and the selection of a Construction Manager soon to follow, Members can look forward to facilities that will modernize our spaces, expand program opportunities, and elevate the overall Member experience.

Frame the Future is about more than bricks and mortar. It is about creating spaces that promote lifelong well-being, foster stronger connections, and inspire future generations of CWC families. We look forward to sharing more updates with you in the coming months as the design progresses and this transformative vision takes shape.

Warm Regards,

Gavin Hamblin
