Food & Beverage Update
Dear Members,
As part of our ongoing Frame the Future updates, this communication focuses on Food & Beverage operations and Member event impacts, outlining what Members can expect as we move toward construction.
In support of this, we want to share an important update to the project timeline.
After consulting with our design and construction partners, we've made the decision to shift the project’s start date by approximately one month, with construction now anticipated to begin in mid-August 2026.
This decision is driven primarily by current permitting timelines at the City of Calgary, which are running longer than anticipated. Establishing a realistic construction start date — one anchored to expected permit approval — allows us to build a reliable workback schedule covering all enabling works and pre-construction preparations, and ensures we are ready to mobilize the moment permits are in hand. The additional time also allows the design team to further advance construction drawings prior to tender, supporting more accurate pricing and execution.
While this adjustment shifts the anticipated start slightly, it allows for a more coordinated and well-prepared construction process. Please note that the Aquatics Centre closure remains unchanged and will continue as planned from June through August 2026.
Food & Beverage at the Club During Construction
As construction begins, adjustments to dining, event, and gathering spaces are required to support ongoing operations and project work within the building. As with all decisions related to the project, our focus remains on maintaining the best possible Member experience while preparing the Club for construction.
Elevation Dining Room
Elevation and the Private Dining Room (Bin 818) will close at the start of construction for the duration of Phase 1A, which is anticipated to span approximately one year. This closure is needed to enable modifications to the structure to tie in the new building envelope for the Universal Locker Room and new patio.
The temporary closure of these spaces provides a great opportunity to undertake necessary maintenance, including a refresh of the restaurant’s interiors. During the closure, we will also take steps to improve the acoustics and circulation of the spaces, which will ensure all tables are accessible and the environment is enjoyable on even the busiest nights. Additionally, a dedicated bar will be installed to enhance drink service and support the newly constructed patio. A second private dining room has also been incorporated into the plans – an opportunity that presented itself during the detailed design process. This room will sit above the Universal Locker Room, in the space that is currently the main lobby. This is well timed, given the popularity of Bin 818, and will provide more opportunities for the Club to host your special occasions and large family gatherings.
While this closure will impact Members in the short term, we are excited to share this refreshed space with you upon the completion of Phase 1A.
Dining During Construction
As construction begins, RnR and the Club Café will serve as the Club’s primary dining outlets, ensuring Members continue to have access to a variety of food and beverage services.
The Club Café will remain open daily from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm, access to coffee, casual dining, and quick service throughout the day.
RnR will operate seven days a week, with a shared schedule that supports both family dining and adult- only dining. Family dining will be available throughout the day until approximately 8:00 pm, after which the space will transition to an adult-focused lounge environment. This timing aligns with the conclusion of most adult programs and leagues.
Additional details on menus, hours, and scheduling will be shared closer to the start of construction.
Birthday Parties & Group Wind-Ups
Birthday parties and group bookings will not be available once construction is underway, as the spaces that support these events will temporarily transition to support programming. Members are encouraged to book in advance while availability remains.
Events
To support continuity of events during construction, the Club has partnered with Silver Springs Golf Course to host key internal events as well as to provide Members with an alternative venue for hosting events while on-site space is limited.
Members wishing to plan events such as celebrations of life, corporate meetings, weddings, or holiday parties may explore this option by contacting the CWC’s Event’s Team at events@calgarywinterclub.com. The Events Team will coordinate introductions and act as a liaison between Members and Silver Springs, supporting the planning process and ensuring a seamless experience.
Bookings will be subject to Silver Springs’ availability, menus, pricing, and event packages.
